Rox Love from you

I've been fortunate enough to have some amazing friends on the site who have made gift art in dedication to me. Here are some of those pieces.

>>>>~--~-- | † | --~--~<<<<

Thank you so much for all the love for Jack!

We've raised $313.00!! :new: so far, to everyone who has donated (both in love and monitarily) Jack sends kitty kisses! And some icing on the cake... Ali got a DD for a piece dedicated to this specific cause. I'm so proud of her and her evolving as an artist. :aww: Love you internet mom!
and thanks to ^splintered13 for featuring the beautiful piece.

Here's a thumb so you can enjoy it to!

So what's all the fuss about? read on.....

It's been a long time, huh? glad you made it back over here as I've been gone for a while.

The biggest goings on in my life involve my new career and one little girl cat named Jack. I need to tell you about her. If you have time, please read.

Some of you have heard from other online sites that `allhopeislost and I frequent, about Jack. Jack is a very tiny stray kitty that found its way to us about 2 weeks ago. She is/was the sweetest most docile, lovable 6-8 week old, malnourished, scared and adorable kitten that I’ve seen in a long time.

Being a volunteer for many animal outreach groups and having donated my time to shelters and feral cat rescue programs, I’ve been bitten, hissed at, charged, sprayed and clawed more than my fair share, but this little one lays on her back and lets you have at her belly. Lovely change, I must say.

What’s unique about Jack?
A few things---The first being her hind leg having such a bad break that her bones were so far apart, they couldn’t fuse back together. She walked with a limp and even though she had such a break, she still wanted to play and acted like nothing was wrong except she kept chewing the inside of her leg until it was raw because of the position of her bones.

:jawdrop: yeah, it’s THAT bad. So bad, that her leg would fly straight out to the side when she would try to run. Very disturbing to see. :(

Other unique things….Jack ended up winning the heart of me, Jesse, and my VERY non cat liking mom and dad, actually, my dad hates cats. (and of course my daughter, but that was an easy sell.) My parents moved in with us a bit ago (another long story) so it does matter how they feel about the creatures in this house. I’m allergic to 90% of all cats, but not Jack! We got the blessing to keep lil’ Jack whom I thought was a boy cat, (3rd time I was wrong about this whole gender thing with kitties but we kept the name Jack anyway…. “Jack Danielle” my daughter calls her.) and decided to go find out how we could best treat her leg.

Now what do we do?/ Help! ‹‹››

>>>>~--~-- | † | --~--~<<<<

We found out that Jack did NOT have feline leukemia and tested negative for HIV but she desperately needed surgery on her leg. After we found out she was perfectly healthy, we didn’t have the heart to put her down as we thought we might have to. She ended up with a metal rod/pin put through both bones in her leg to pull them back together. She looks like “Jack-en-stein.”

I never thought I’d see myself in a place where I would campaign for an animal online, but it’s necessary. I know times are hard for everyone right now and we’re no exception. The details for my particular situation aren’t important, they just are… I also didn’t think I would ever make another journal entry here on dA because of past events but Jack is this important to me.

My parents paid $1,000 for Jack’s surgery and we promised to pay them back, and will. There’s a follow up visit to remove the pin and stitches and we’ve yet to figure that out but we will. We’re doing our best to keep her immobile and giving her as much love as she can handle. If you have it in your heart to help out our new furry family member, we would greatly appreciate it. Positive vibes for her recovery are always welcome too. She isn't pretty right now, but here's the latest image of her, post Op.....

To donate through paypal, please use the address: ahildesigns@gmail.com

Or simply click the image above and it will take you straight to the paypal donate page for Jack.

Thank you so much for taking time to read up on our life with Jack. It’s been a long 6 months for me on a professional level, but I see that there’s a plan that is better than I could have known at the time.

I will post more pics of Jack as she gets her hair back and grows a little and she's feeling up to it.

Hope you guys are well, I dearly miss you.

I began my "life on dA" about 4 years ago on another account. I had no idea what I was doing but knew I loved what I saw and the people were groovy too!

After integrating into the community and learning the ropes, I was invited to be a then Gallery Director for the wallpaper gallery. Soon after, film came to dA. I have a lot of background in film and was offered the volunteer position for the film and animation team.

Fast forwarding a bit- in January of 2008, I became a full time employee of dA, working as the Assistant Director of Artist Relations. Very rewarding experience, and then, after the volunteer program was "restructured," and a trip to L.A., I became the Manager of Film Development full time. (October 2008)

January, 2009. I received a phone call from my boss, $Moonbeam13, and was terminated. Nothing prior had indicated to me that there was an issue of any kind. Business is business, I'm told. Maybe I was petting the llama backwards?

I've met the love of my life, `allhopeislost here, and gained a LOT more than I lost. (pun intended)

My respect regarding the integrity and professionalism of particular members of the upper administration is obviously kicked to the curb. I was always taught to treat people fairly no matter what the situation.

I'm still here and will check in. I still adore the people I've met, but... I'm not comfortable here anymore. You can say my "Passion" for the site is now lacking and THAT would be accurate.

If you need a breath of fresh air- come find me at FallenRox is hangin' here!
