This is a follow up piece, and I have one more to go for this Trio of mysterious outdoor bathtub scenes. The first is Lily. Here, we have Rose. The third is yet to be named.
Once the trio is complete, it will be shown in California. Much excitement to be able to show my work there. ^..^
Actually I just wish I could meet someone who would give me honest critique. Present company excluded. You've always done that. I mean it's nice to hear. "Oh this is nice" and "Wow!" and all that stuff that makes my head swell two times bigger than it needs to be but I'd give anything for a comment that would let me know why it is I still feel stagnant even when people say what I've done is "Great!" For instance, I recently re-upped that story "Good Night", the one you liked so much but said could use some "polishing". You never elaborated. I'm in the process right now of trying to do just that but I can't get anyone to look at it and give me any ideas, not even the people who used to be so supportive here at home. It seems no one has the time these days. I don't know who to turn to. Who are the right people and why should I think they would even bother with me when even my friends roll their eyes any more.
As far as I know, Lit here hasn't really ever advanced, regardless of all the suggestions, the mock ups for how Lit could be more user friendly etc. There are many things that can be improved on many elements of this site but I don't look for them to happen.
I don't know of the most friendly writing site, but I have come across some people who are most definitely honest in their thoughts on works in general. Some of them do write. Not the best answer ever, but it's an honest one. The most intimate interactions that I see happening are on Blue Canvas. I'll tell you more in a few minutes.
A lot of stock providers here don't want people to use their stock anywhere but DA and asking permission to do put up work elsewhere is like talking to rocks. Most never answer and the ones who do just point to their rules even when it says to ask permission first you get either no answer at all or something stupid.I only know one or two sites that do stock that is outside DA. I'm probably going to have to start over if I go elswhere using only stock from outside DA.
I never use dA stock anymore. Only if it's Marcus Ranum's stuff. It's just not worth the hassle anymore.
There are many stock sites that have very affordable stock rates and you end up with unique pieces. I'm really sick to death of seeing the same stock models from here over and over and over.. yanno? It's far less headache to have free reign with the varied stock- its re-inspiring too.
For example: And granted this isn't right for everyone... but Jess and I can spend $200.00 and get 750 stock images in a months time. That's .27 per image of high resolution, quality stock. Again, it might not be right for you, but even still, there are credit packages with several sites and you can buy stock pieces here and there for 2-3 bucks a pop.
I deleted my dA folder of stock. I was lost for a while until I rebuilt it but I've never been happier.
There's also free sites, with reasonable usage. Just sayin'
Shit I live on 200 a month and food stamps. If it weren't for my room mate. I wouldn't have my new pc. She bought it. It's her way of being supportive since she really has no idea what to say about my work besides the usual. I am trying to do more of my own stock but I don't get out as much as I'd like to. There are at least a hundred places I want to go and I won't see half of them. I don't drive and depending on someone else is as bad as my having to depend on my room mates for a place to live. I can't try to go to work because I'll lose my medical coverage and I can't afford my rent so I'm pretty much the starving artist of days gone by. Oops! I almost forgot here is the [link] to my BC account. The only thing I have to put up right now is stories. The rest is all tied up in stock rules and bull....
